The Practical Leadership Model (TM)

The Practical Leadership Model is a research-based, practice-tested guide to leadership in the nonprofit and community setting. 

In clear and practical terms, it lays out the fundamentals of organizational leadership, coalition leadership, and collaborative leadership - all from the distinctive perspective of the nonprofit or community leader. 

The Practical Leadership Model complements virtually all of the major leadership models in widespread use today, and it comes with training and a simple set of tools to help you apply the model in your daily leadership practice.

  • The Practical Leadership Model (TM). We offer our own leadership development platform- The Practical Leadership Model - as an option for every client.  But our highest goal is to help you decide exactly what kind of leadership approach best suits your needs.  (See side bar for more).

  • Smart Collaboration. We can support leadership development for multiple people and organizations through our Smart Collaboration Solution, as we are currently doing for the Leading for the Long Term Institute, the Nurse Leadership Institute of Central Virginia, and the Claude Moore Physician Leadership Institute at the Medical Society of Virginia Foundation.
