Spotlight on
The Community Investment Model (TM)
The Community Investment Model is a decision support tool designed to help philanthropic, government, business, and nonprofit organizations make intelligent decisions about investing in community projects.
The Community Investment Model includes 22 questions which enable the decision making team to specify and clarify the purpose, value proposition, expected return on investment, and strategic risks inherint in the investment.
In the process of applying the Community Investment Model, organizations develop a common language of community investment which helps to streamline discussion and analysis of investment decisions now and in the future.
The Community Investment Model can be especially helpful for equipping boards to become effectively engaged in strategic decision making.
Strategic Solutions
What is our strategy? How well are we executing? Are we achieving our intentions? Do we need a change in plans?
These are essential questions for any organization to ask about their strategy. At Community Health Solutions we equip our clients to answer these questions on a regular basis so that their strategy is always contemporary and relevant. We bring a philosophy that strategy is about much more than 'strategic planning.' We view strategy as a continuous process which includes planning, execution, evaluation, and adjustment.
- Strategic Planning. We can help lead your planning team through a facilitated process of defining your strategic intentions in terms of your mission, customers, vision, values, goals, and strategic actions.
- Strategic Execution. We can advise your planning team on how to monitor and assure execution of your strategic plan, including the appropriate role of the board and the executive team.
- Strategic Decision Making. A strategic plan is just a document unless it is used to support strategic decision making. We can translate your strategic plan into a set of practical decision support tools which you can use to assure that all of your decisions are made to advance advance your strategic intentions. (See side bar for more).
- Smart Collaboration. We can help multiple people engage in strategic planning over a shared platform of web-based resources and group planning sessions. Or, we can train multiple people in how to become more effective strategic planners and decisions makers. Ask us how we can help you build strategic management capacity for your organization or for multiple organizations.
